These words and these phrases
Are for people and places
We never really knew.
They're only worthwhile
While their worth is on trial
For the damages that they do.

We watch what we say
Because we can't get away
With saying what we feel.
So we write it in lyrics
But with victories: Pyrric
The meaning's been repealed

Everyday we worry about the things we say and do

Show the places we've been
But how many really see
The efforts we make
